By January 2026, India had commissioned 132 CBG plants with capacity of ~920 tonnes/day. While this is still far from the SATAT target of 5,000 plants by 2030, momentum is clearly building.
The biggest shift is the governmentโ€™s phased CBG blending mandate starting FY26. Mandatory blending creates long-term demand visibility and strengthens the economics of the sector.
