Dear ladies and gentlemen’s,
I happy to speak in the forum and share my concerns and my ideas.
In 2019 global energy consumption amounted as 14-billion-ton oil equivalent. It means about 160 thousand of terawatt-hour. Consequence of the energy using is nature contamination. I’d like to pay your attention to fact that in 2020 lockdown led to less of contamination. clear skies over Beijing, clear water in São Paulo and even the return of dolphins to Venice. All this happens when humanity ceases to pollute a nature, even for a short period.
Of course, we should to decrease the energy using. However, we are missing an important point. About 6 million people include 3 million children are dying annually because of hunger and food insecurity. The main reason for food insecurity is a shortfall of reliable supply could chain. Existing cold chains cannot handle the goal to supply food to starving people. For example, 55% of fruit and vegetable 35% of fish and seafood, 20% of dairy, and 20% of meat products of Nigeria just wasted due to missing cold chain infrastructure. To fight with hunger, we should perform a huge improvement a refrigeration structure in starving countries. It means, a significantly growth of energy consumption. It will lead us to dilemma: what is more important fight with climate change or fight with global hunger. We need to avoid the dilemma.
To handle the both problems, we need an implementation of science solution for energy efficiency, decrease of energy consumption in existing industrial and commercial processes, cost optimization of renewable energy sources, and implementation of circular economic. It requires a huge investment in developing and implementation of cleantech technology include achievable clean energy sources in poor countries. As well, Green Washing problem not solved yet. I’m talking about situation when managers avoid a real cleantech technology implementation and replacing it by convincing fictitious ESG reports. Personal responsibility of managers of business and public sector in the ESG reporting issue will significantly contribute to real clean technology implementation.
And what my company NAM technology doing.
Regarding to Cooling technology, we invented multi-cascade technology and developed Ecokor product enable to save 15%-25% of energy and fuel spent for cooling and refrigeration. It will help to decrease energy consumption in supermarkets, cold warehouses and food plant, as well save fuel in refrigeration truck and fishing vessels. Entirely implementation of the technology will make possible reduction of 12%-15% of GHG emissions caused by cooling and refrigeration and will lead to reducing annual GHG emission of 500 million tons of CO2, an equivalent of 8.8% of global commitment with accordance to Paris Agreement.
Regarding to heating technology, most advanced heating device is heat pump. Problem of existing heat pump is low efficiency in negative Celsius temperatures. We developed a new kind of heat pump efficiently working in cold climate like North Europe (include Scandinavia and Baltic countries), Canada, North US and Russia. I believe, our technology will help to decrease using of fossil source for heating in the regions by 75%-80%.
