Now we’re taking it a step further. On September 16th at Klika Center in Karmiel, in collaboration with Road2, we’ll gather again for NITUP #2 – . This time, the focus is on one of the most defining challenges for every startup: turning vision into sales and building a real go-to-market strategy.

What a night!
Over 100 tech leaders, founders, investors, and ecosystem builders gathered at the Kinneret Innovation Center for the very first – an evening that proved one thing beyond doubt: Northern Israel is home to a thriving, bold, and brilliant tech community.

Led by NIT - The Northern Israeli Tech Fund, in partnership with Norterra, and as part of by The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, the event celebrated innovation, regional collaboration, and opportunity.
🎙️ Uriel Perman, CEO of Norterra, delivered an eye-opening presentation mapping out the most active tech zones and projects across the North, showing just how much is already happening – and what’s still to come.
🎙️ Dganit Vered brought her unmatched experience and deep insights into how the North can thrive as a fertile ground for bold innovation, with real, sustainable impact.
🎙️ Ori Ben-Herzel, CEO of MIGAL Galilee Research Institute, with his bold statement that "Where the last startup sits – there the border will be drawn," Ori redefined the frontier of Israeli innovation and reminded us why the North is a strategic asset for the entire country.
🎙️ Nisan Zeevi inspired the room with his passion for community-building and ecosystem development – a true force for good, driving progress in the region.
🎙️ Emma (Mayana) Vardimon, from Startup Nation Central, shared practical and actionable advice for founders looking to engage with global investors, drawing from her experience bridging the Israeli tech scene with global markets.
🎙️ We were honored by the presence of Einav Peretz, Head of the " for the North" Implementation Headquarters – Northern Coordinator and Northern District Manager at the Ministry of the Interior. Einav shared her strategic vision for advancing the region and stayed with us through the very end, answering every question with dedication and clarity – a true partner in building the future of northern innovation.

Behind the scenes – yet at the very heart of this movement – are Eldar Sivan, Co-Managing Partner at NIT, and Shai Cohen, NIT's Marketing Manager, who moderated the evening and was part of the founding team that brought this vision to life. Their dedication to building a stronger, smarter, and more connected northern ecosystem made this evening possible.

🌟 An inspiring day of innovation in Northern Israel!
Just wrapped up another exciting round of meetings with Northern tech startups. These encounters highlighted the incredible potential that the Northern region holds - not just for local residents, but for Israel's economy and the world at large.
We met with brilliant entrepreneurs who combine technological innovation, business opportunities, and social impact - all working to create a better world. The startups we saw prove that Northern Israel is becoming a significant tech hub!

Roy Engel – A Key member of NIT

Roy Engel is a partner, and head of the funds department at Barnea, Jaffa, Lande. He plays an active role in NIT, bringing 30 years of legal expertise, including 22 years in investment funds. He advises fund managers and institutional investors on fund formation, financing, and regulation and has played a key role in establishing venture capital funds for the pharma sector on behalf of the Ministry of Finance.

With a strong personal connection to Northern Israel, Roy combines his deep professional knowledge with a commitment to the region’s development. His insights and experience support NIT’s mission of fostering growth and investment in the North.

רועי אנגל הוא שותף וראש מחלקת הקרנות במשרד ברנע, ג'פה, לנד. הוא ממלא תפקיד פעיל ב-NIT ומביא עמו 30 שנות מומחיות משפטית, מתוכן 22 שנים בתחום קרנות ההשקעה. הוא מייעץ למנהלי קרנות ולמשקיעים מוסדיים בנושאי הקמה, מימון ורגולציה, ושיחק תפקיד מרכזי בהקמת קרנות הון סיכון בתחום הפארמה מטעם משרד האוצר.

עם קשר אישי עמוק לצפון ישראל, רועי משלב בין הידע המקצועי הרחב שלו למחויבות לפיתוח האזור. התובנות והניסיון שלו תומכים במשימת NIT לקידום הצמיחה וההשקעות בצפון.

The goal of the NIT Fund is to promote and support entrepreneurship and technology in Northern Israel, leveraging the region’s development as a unique opportunity combining business impact and social change. The fund will invest in high-quality ventures that will be ready for investment under favorable conditions, allowing investors to achieve financial returns while driving meaningful transformation in the region. By combining private and public capital, the fund will strive to accelerate the economic recovery of the area, strengthen local communities, and position itself as a key player in the large-scale investments expected in Northern Israel.
