⚠️ Stay Alert to Scams ⚠️

New figures from the Central Bank of Ireland show that €179 million was lost to fraud and scams in 2025 – a 27% increase on the previous year.

Fraudsters are using increasingly sophisticated tactics, including convincing text messages, phone calls, online adverts and even AI-enabled impersonation.

Protect yourself:
✅ Think before you click
✅ Verify unexpected requests independently
✅ Never share your PIN, passwords or banking security codes
✅ Block and report suspicious messages or calls

If you believe you have fallen victim to a scam, contact us immediately and report it to An Garda Síochána.

Stay vigilant and remember – if something doesn’t feel right, stop and check.

Criminals can target young people and students with promises of quick cash or expensive gifts in exchange for using their bank or credit union account.

This could make you a money mule — helping criminals move stolen or illegal funds.

⚠️ Never allow someone else to use your account
⚠️ Never transfer money for someone you don’t know or trust
⚠️ Be suspicious of “easy money” offers online or through social media

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Stop. Question it. Walk away.

Local authorities inspected 4,315 farms under GAP regulations last year, with 2,935 enforcement actions taken, 68% higher than the year before. Of those inspected, 43% were found to be non compliant.

The most common issues were uncontrolled runoff from farmyard manure, inadequate gutters and downpipes, poor clean and dirty water separation and slurry management.
