💙 Happy International Credit Union Day! 💙
Today, we join credit unions around the world in celebrating International Credit Union Day 2026 and, most importantly, celebrating the people and communities who make credit unions so special.
For 78 years, this global celebration has highlighted the difference credit unions make every day. At the heart of that is one simple ethos: “people helping people.”
At Cara Credit Union, that ethos is at the centre of everything we do. We are proud to serve more than 58,000 members across our common bond and, in the past year, have provided over €60 million in loans, helping our members achieve their goals while supporting our local economy.
Today is also our opportunity to say a huge thank you to our members, volunteers, staff and communities for your continued support. 💙
To mark the occasion, we’ll be out and about in our common bond towns with some random acts of kindness, and we’ll also have member draws for those who carry out a branch transaction, apply for a loan or open a current account.
After all, that’s what credit unions are all about: people helping people and communities supporting communities.
