Tralee Credit Union was founded in 1968, and we have been serving our members in a professional and efficient manner ever since. The name Tralee Credit Union changed as part of the 50th celebrations. Cara was the chosen name. Cara is the Irish for Friend, a name that reflects our identity, our success, our growth and our strength together. Following four successful mergers (2012 Tralee CIE Credit Union, 2015 Killorglin Credit Union, 2021 Clanmaurice Credit Union and 2023 Comhar Chreidmheasa Chorca Dhuibhne Teoranta) and a name change in 2018 to Cara Credit Union we have continued to grow from strength to strength. The combined strength means that you, our members share equal ownership of a credit union with €320 Million in assets with strong reserves and guaranteed income. We are now well positioned to provide a wider range of services to you which include loans, savings, insurance, banking, online banking, foreign exchange and a current account with a Globally accepted MasterCard debit card. We are delighted to inform you that we have launched a new 1-year fixed term deposit product with an attractive AER of 2.15%.

With this product, you can deposit any amount between €1,000 and €50,000 for a fixed period of 1 year. You will receive a fixed annual equivalent rate of 2.15% per annum. This means that you will know exactly how much interest you will earn at the end of the term.
