Ellie the elephant Hi, I am Ellie the Elephant, Tralee Credit Union's Youth Mascot "Saving Makes Cents" Tralee Credit Union is one of the most progressive credit unions in Ireland

Tralee Credit Union is one of the most progressive credit unions in Ireland. From humble beginnings in 1968, we serve with distinction all members of our community with over 29,000 active members. In over 40 years, our members savings have grown to more than €86 million with a loans portfolio of more than €92 million, not bad for a credit union with a starting capital of £50.00. Tralee Credit Union is independently owned and controlled with offices in Tralee and Castleisland.

FAIR CITY’S CARRIGSTOWN TO GET ITS FIRST CREDIT UNION

RTÉ and the Irish League of Credit Unions have today announced an exciting new three year sponsorship deal which will bring the first ever credit union to Fair City’s Carrigstown.

Fair City is the number one soap opera on Irish television and attracts an average viewership of over 544,000 per episode. Community spirit is at the heart of Fair City and the residents of Carrigstown which resonates hugely with viewers across Ireland, making it the most popular and longest running soap in Ireland.

Credit Unions are deeply rooted in local communities the length and breadth of the country and continue to play an important social and economic role by providing accessible, friendly financial services. Despite the difficult economic climate, credit union membership continues to increase and over the past three years 80,000 people have joined their credit union.
