Meet Declan Walsh
Declan has over 25 yearsâ experience in finance and operations management having worked as a CFO for several companies with his roles involving leading company acquisition, growth strategy development and corporate governance. From startups to multinationals, Declan has been involved with Irish businesses which have additional locations in places such as the UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, China and Russia.
In addition to Deferno Solutions, he set up the North West Neurological Society, a charity supporting patients and families affected by neurological conditions. As well as this, he is the founding Chairman of The Chartered Accountants Northwest Society, served as a member of the Governing Body of the Sligo Institute of Technology and Chairman of its Internal Audit Committee. He is also a past member of both the Institute of Directors and the Ireland-US Council. Based in Sligo, Declan makes time amidst his busy schedule for the outdoors with a particular love of golf and cycling on the Wild Atlantic Way. He also enjoys choral singing and most recently, taking to the stage.
Declanâs main aim in both his professional and voluntary endeavours is to provide support and advice for those experiencing the difficulties that come with change, transition, progression, and overwhelm. He decided the best way to do that is to use his wealth of knowledge and experience to help businesses and organisations operate better in the corporate world. His main objective is to be the voice of reason during challenging times for his clients to help them with the next step of their journey, whatever stage that may be.
