When you become a member and start saving with your credit union, you have access to fair and reasonable rates on savings and loans. Surplus income generated is returned to the members by way of a dividend or is directed to improved or additional services required by the members

We were delighted to receive photos from Whitegate Mountshannon Community Games Mountshannon Community Games, one of the beneficiaries of the Lasairfhรญona Helping Hand Fund 2026, showcasing the new gazebo purchased with the funding.
Itโ€™s fantastic to see the fund directly supporting local volunteers and encouraging sport, fun and participation among children in our community. This is what being a Credit Union is all about โ€” reinvesting in the people and places we serve.

The days are getting longer. And if you have solar panels, your electricity meter is taking note.

Over 155,000 Irish homes are now generating their own electricity from solar. More than 33,000 of those systems were installed in 2025 alone.

The average solar PV system can cut your electricity bill by up to 60%. There's an SEAI grant, 0% VAT on installation, and you can sell surplus electricity back to the grid.

If you've been thinking about installing solar, getting a system in now means you're generating through the sunniest months rather than starting in autumn.

If you're looking at solar alongside other upgrades, or just need to bridge the gap between the grant and the total cost, Greenify offers green loans through your local credit union for home energy upgrades.

If you still have halogen or older-style bulbs around the house, you may be using more electricity than you need to.

LED bulbs use much less electricity and last significantly longer than older bulb types, which makes them one of the simplest ways to cut household electricity use.
You do not need to replace everything at once. Start with the lights you use most, like the kitchen, living room and landing.
If you have dimmer switches, make sure you buy dimmable LEDs, as not all LEDs are compatible.
