New research from Chill Insurance ranks Donegal as the fourth most affordable county in Ireland for first-time buyers. Even so, a single buyer needs to earn around €57,000 to buy a typical home there, while the local median income sits at around €37,000. That leaves a single buyer short by more than €20,000.
