Monaghan Credit Union The Credit Union movement was introduced into Ireland in 1958 by Nora Herilhy with the support of a number of other dedicated pioneers.

Monaghan Credit Union provide many services to our members including savings, low loan rates, direct debits, standing orders, online facilities and award-winning customer service! Since then, the Credit Union philosophy of mutual self-help has proved very popular, and there are now over 530 Credit Unions affiliated to the Irish league of Credit Unions throughout the country. In Ireland over 2.9 million members have recognized the value of credit unions, and have savings approaching €11.9 billion with their credit unions. There are over 9,200 active volunteers involved in the movement, and over 3,500 people are employed (ILCU – Jan 2010).

Farmers are looking ahead to colder weather and should make sure winter housing is ready.

Agriland is advising farmers to get scraper and cubicle maintenance done, clean and disinfect sheds and check cubicle numbers are sufficient before housing.
