Monaghan Credit Union provide many services to our members including savings, low loan rates, direct debits, standing orders, online facilities and award-winning customer service! Since then, the Credit Union philosophy of mutual self-help has proved very popular, and there are now over 530 Credit Unions affiliated to the Irish league of Credit Unions throughout the country.

In Ireland over 2.9 million members have recognized the value of credit unions, and have savings approaching โ‚ฌ11.9 billion with their credit unions. There are over 9,200 active volunteers involved in the movement, and over 3,500 people are employed (ILCU โ€“ Jan 2010).

Breaking news: Government launches โ‚ฌ8500 EV Scrappage Scheme.
If you scrap a petrol or diesel car that is over 13 years old, you can claim a โ‚ฌ5,000 grant towards a new electric vehicle. That comes on top of the existing โ‚ฌ3,500 EV grant, so the total support is now up to โ‚ฌ8,500. After the warmest spell of the year so far, the return of rain this week changes grass management on farm. Teagasc Grass10's target pre-grazing yield remains 1,300โ€“1,400kg DM/ha but after a dry spell followed by rain, covers can vary from paddock to paddock.

What to prioritise this week according:
1. Before making any grazing decisions, walk the farm and know it's current state
2. Prioritise controlling grass covers
3. Rest rain-softened paddocks this week; poaching now costs you weeks of grass growth
4. Recheck water troughs as dehydrated cows will be reflected in milk yield

As Teagasc Grass10 has consistently noted, every extra 1kg DM of grass eaten per cow per day over the season is worth โ‚ฌ120/cow in additional profit. Managing this transition well protects that return.

Our Staff in Monaghan & Ballybay officers were delighted to wish our team member Christina Weldon all the best in tomorrowโ€™s Vhi Women's Mini Marathon as she takes part along with her Daughters in memory of their family members tragically lost as Swanns Cross in 2001. Christina has been busy raising funds for her chosen charity irishroadvictimsassociation and advocating for road Safety .
