Feed shortages warning amidst lack of rainfall
Teagasc is warning that farmers in the east and south of the country face a real risk of winter feed shortages if significant rainfall does not arrive soon. In the east, grass growth has fallen to less than 10kg DM per hectare per day, less than 10% of normal. As reported in Agriland, farmers are supplementing between 75% and 100% of daily feed requirements.

Teagasc is urging farmers to closely monitor feed budgets and take action early if a winter deficit looks likely.

If you are planning a home energy upgrade, know the current costs before you start.

SEAI's latest data, based on 23,412 upgrades completed in the first half of 2026, puts the median cost of a heat pump upgrade for a detached home at €17,000. Available grant support can reach €12,500.

What do I need to do?
You will receive everything you need via a card mailer, which will be delivered to your doorstep; no action is required before that. Your existing Mastercard will remain active until you activate your new Visa Debit card.
