ANNOUNCEMENT:
To all our FB followers and friends It was with regret that I had to make the decision to close the Advanced Electrical Store in Ardee last month. We had some great local support and wonderful loyal customers during our time on Irish Street and our staff made some great memories along the way as well. But the reality is that I fear for any new retail business starting up in this country in the current climate, with exorbitant Insurance rates, ATM raids, weather warnings, pandemic etc.... the odds are truly stacked against it from the start. I can only hope following this current COVID-19 crisis that the newly formed government’s attitude adapts to change and puts the support network and structures in place to help harness and develop new start-up retail business’s. After-all these business’s are what community’s are built around, where local people are employed and local charities and sporting organisations and groups are supported. Failure by our govt representatives in doing this will lead to our town centres around the country becoming deserted relics of a bygone era.
These are Challenging times indeed and when we do come through this crisis we as consumers must change our buying attitudes and support our local business’s, if we do this then we give ourselves a fighting chance and who knows you may see the Advanced Electrical Store emerge on the high street again in the future. Many thanks to all of you who helped and supported us along the way, it didn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated. David Courtney
