🍕 PIZZA BEFORE SAFETY?

conducting a speed checkpoint recently detected this motorist travelling at 113 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

When stopped, Gardaí established the driver was an unaccompanied learner driver, with no L plates displayed and no insurance.

And the reason for the rush?

👉 They were trying to get a pizza before the shop closed.

The vehicle was seized.

A €440 Fixed Charge Penalty Notice and 3 penalty points were issued for speeding and the learner-driver/L-plate offences.

The driver will also face a court appearance in relation to no insurance.

All that risk..... for a pizza.

No takeaway is worth putting yourself or other road users at risk.

Slow down. Follow the rules. Get home safely.

🚨 DRINK DRIVER ARRESTED IN KINSALE 🚨

Following a report from a member of the public, Gardaí in Kinsale arrested a disqualified driver earlier today.

The driver returned an evidential breath reading of 112mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath – more than 12 times his applicable legal limit of 9mg.

The vehicle was also found to have:

❌ No insurance
❌ Tax expired since March 2023
❌ NCT expired since January 2025

The driver was charged to appear before the courts.
