Tadgh’s senior management and business experience in Financial Services plays a key part in managing all our clients. Fergal Smith is the Financial Services Manager at Gallivan Financial. Introducing the newest member of our Killarney team — Brian Gilligan ✨

Brian may have joined us less than a month ago, but he has already settled into the team so naturally that it feels like he has been here all along! We're delighted to have him on board and look forward to seeing him develop his career with Gallivan Financial.

A Business graduate from TUS Limerick, Brian holds a Bachelor of Business degree and brings valuable experience across financial services, data analysis and customer information management 🎓 His background has helped him develop the strong organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail that are essential in a regulated financial environment.

Before joining Gallivan Financial, Brian worked as a Data Analyst within the medical industry, analysing large datasets, maintaining Excel tracking and reporting systems, and ensuring information was managed accurately and in line with GDPR requirements 📊 He also gained experience with Munster Group Insurance, managing customer and financial information, preparing documentation and helping train new team members. Working with information from providers including Zurich and Irish Life gave him valuable insight into the financial services sector.

Today, as a Financial Services Administrator, Brian brings this experience to his role, supporting the team with a careful, organised and detail-focused approach 🤝 He is also working towards his Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) designation, having already completed the Loans module 👏 His enthusiasm for learning and interest in financial planning make him a great addition to the team.

Outside the office, Brian has a passion for strongman training 💪 He put his strength and dedication to the test by competing in February, demonstrating the discipline and commitment that carry through into his professional life. Originally from Clare, he also enjoys heading back to visit and spending time in the banner county 💛💙

Originally from Edinburgh, Chris brings more than 10 years of experience in financial services to Gallivan Financial 🧡 With a background spanning mortgages, financial services, customer service, and real estate, he has built a strong reputation for delivering professional advice and putting clients first.

Chris has worked as a Mortgage Advisor across the UK, Dubai and Australia, gaining valuable international experience and developing extensive knowledge of residential mortgages, investment properties, and financial planning. His diverse career has given him a broad perspective and a deep understanding of helping clients navigate important financial decisions with confidence 🌍

Committed to continuous learning and professional development, Chris currently holds the APA qualification and is working towards becoming a Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA), with four of the six exams already completed 👏 He also holds the CeMAP qualification from the UK, further strengthening his expertise within the financial services sector.

Known around the office for his positive attitude and ever-present smile, Chris is a pleasure to work with and someone who quickly puts both clients and colleagues at ease. We also love hearing his Scottish lilt around the office! His approachable nature, strong work ethic and client-focused mindset make him a valued member of the team 😊

Chris made the move to Ireland in October 2025 after living and working in Dubai and Australia. Drawn to Kerry through his fiancé's Tralee roots, he has quickly settled into life in the Kingdom. The couple are now counting down the weeks until their wedding day 💍

Outside of the office, Chris is a passionate golfer. Playing off an impressive handicap of 3, he is making the most of being surrounded by some of the finest golf courses in the country. With so many world-renowned courses on his doorstep, he's spoiled for choice here in the Kingdom ⛳

One of the simplest tax planning opportunities available in Ireland is often one of the most overlooked.

Every year, you can gift up to €3,000 to another person completely tax-free under the Small Gift Exemption. Better still, the recipient doesn't need to pay Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT) on the gift, and it doesn't reduce their lifetime CAT threshold.
