Galway County Public Participation Network

Galway County Public Participation Network Galway County Public Participation Network (PPN) is a network of people and community groups in County Galway to have a say on issues that concern them.

The Public Participation Network’s core remit is to bring the voices of community groups, including those marginalised and socially excluded into formal policy making structures of Local Authorities. The Galway County Public Participation Network (PPN) is a collection of over 1,300 community & voluntary groups from all over County Galway. Our main purpose is to act on behalf of communities and pro

vide input into local policies and plans. We have representatives sitting on all the main Council committees. We also distribute and share information to groups on topics that are important to them such as funding, insurance, constitutions etc. PPNs were setup under the Local Government Act Reform 2014 and replaced the previous Community & Voluntary Forum. Membership of the PPN is open to all community and voluntary groups/organisations that are working on a voluntary or non-profit basis subject to certain criteria.
