We’ve been named a finalist for Customer Experience Transformation of the Year at the 2026.

It’s easy for “customer experience” to become a phrase companies use without saying much. For us, it’s meant something more specific: looking honestly at where our processes were slow, unclear, or just inconvenient for the people using them — and doing the less glamorous work of fixing that.

We don’t think we’ve got it fully figured out. But being shortlisted among strong competition is a good signal that the direction is right.

Thank you to the team who did the actual work behind this, and to the advisors and customers who’ve been part of shaping it.

We’ll find out on the night — Friday 2nd October, Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire.

⏳ The tax deadline is fast approaching. Did you know that making a qualifying pension contribution before the relevant deadline may reduce your income tax liability, subject to Revenue rules, while boosting your future retirement income?

📊 Revenue sets age-based limits on how much you can contribute and still claim tax relief:
Under 30 → 15% of income
30–39 → 20%
40–49 → 25%
50–54 → 30%
55–59 → 35%
60+ → 40%
(Maximum earnings considered: €115,000.)

💡 Example: A 45-year-old earning €80,000 can contribute up to €20,000 under their age-related limit. Assuming the individual pays income tax at 40%, relief of up to €8,000 may be available — meaning the real cost of a €20,000 contribution could be as low as €12,000. Tax reliefs are subject to Revenue rules and may change. The value of any tax relief depends on your individual circumstances.

📅 The Pay and File deadline for the 2025 Income Tax Return is 31 October 2026, or 18 November 2026 if you file and pay through ROS.

✅ Don’t leave it until the last minute. Now is the time to review your options.

📞 Speak to an Ask Acorn adviser today to see how a contribution could benefit you.

Last week, we had the privilege of welcoming representatives from our 2026 Branch and Head Office nominated charities — Irish Kidney Association , Cliona's Foundation and FirstLight— to share more about the incredible work they do. The stories shared were a powerful reminder of the real impact these organisations have on the lives of the individuals and families they support every day.

A sincere thank you to Eoin, Charlotte and Andrew for taking the time to visit us and for speaking so openly and honestly about their experiences and the work of their organisations. We’re also incredibly grateful to those who nominated these charities and helped shine a light on the important support they provide.

An early start, cold water, and a strong sense of shared purpose 🌅🌊

At the weekend, colleagues from Ask Acorn & Acorn Life DAC took part in the Dip at Dawn on the Winter Solstice in Salthill, joining hundreds of people as the sun rose over Galway Bay. The morning began with a gentle warm-up at the , followed by a short dip in the sea ❄️ and a welcome thaw afterwards over tea, coffee and conversation ☕️.

The event brings together individuals, families, community groups and corporate teams of all ages, all in support of the vital work of the Galway Simon Community 🤝.

Cold, bracing, and quietly uplifting — a reminder of the power of small acts done together.

It’s possible a €5,000 pension contribution could cost you just €3,000 – but only if you act before November 19th.

For someone on the 40% tax rate, a €5,000 pension contribution could:

• Reduce their income tax by €2,000
• Cost only €3,000 net
• Add €5,000 (plus growth) to their retirement fund

A clear win today and for tomorrow.

As the launch of Auto-Enrolment draws closer, our CEO Keith Butler, shares his perspective in the 2025 Irish Examiner Pension Supplement on what the new My Future Fund scheme will mean for employers and employees alike.

📰 In the article, Keith welcomes Auto-Enrolment as an important milestone in addressing Ireland’s pension coverage gap — but cautions that it’s not the full answer. He highlights several key considerations for employers as they assess their options, including:

✅ The need for flexibility in contribution levels and investment choices
✅ The value of ongoing financial advice
✅ The opportunity to deliver workplace pension arrangements through alternative solutions such as a Master Trust or a PRSA

Keith notes that while Auto-Enrolment will help many people begin saving for retirement, employers who want to tailor their benefits and retain access to advice should consider setting up an alternative plan before the system goes live.

At Ask Acorn, our nationwide network of financial advisors is ready to support employers and employees with clear, regulated advice on Master Trust and PRSA solutions — ensuring every organisation can choose the approach that best fits their workforce.
