☕🍰 Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning is in full swing at Thorntons Recycling!

Our Head Office team are enjoying plenty of cakes and treats today, all while raising funds for Harold’s Cross Hospice as part of Together for Hospice – Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

A huge thank you to Grace for organising today’s cake sale, to everyone who baked and brought in treats, and of course to everyone who has donated so far.

A great cause and a pretty good excuse for cake! 🍰☕

♻️ 21 years of Ashbourne Recycling Day!

A huge congratulations to Cllr Joe Bonner on another very successful Ashbourne Recycling Day on Saturday – and an incredible 21 years of organising this fantastic community initiative.

Over that time, 30 Recycling Days have taken place, with more than 2,850 tonnes of waste recycled. Saturday would have added over 100 tonnes to that total – a brilliant result and a great reflection of the continued support the event receives from the local community.

A big thank you also to all of our Thorntons Recycling crews and colleagues who worked throughout the day to service the event, including our Thorntons Security Shredding team providing free document shredding.

Events like this take a lot of organisation and hard work behind the scenes, and we’re delighted to continue supporting Joe and the Ashbourne community.

Congratulations again, Joe – 21 years and still going strong! 👏♻️

🥊🇮🇪 What a night at Croke Park!

A fantastic occasion for Irish sport and an incredible atmosphere as Katie Taylor took centre stage at Croke Park.

Behind an event of this scale, there’s a huge amount of work involved in getting the stadium ready for the crowds.

We’re proud that the Thorntons Recycling team has been playing its part throughout this busy run of events, with additional general waste, recycling and food waste bins installed across Croke Park and our teams supporting the clean-up and recovery operation.

Congratulations to Katie Taylor and everyone involved in delivering another memorable night at Croke Park. 👏♻️🥊

🚛 20 Years Apart – Still Going Strong!

A great addition to the Thorntons Recycling fleet, as we welcome our latest Volvo bin truck into service.

And alongside it in these photos is a brilliant reminder of the value of a good workhorse – one of our 20-year-old Volvo trucks, which is still out working every day and going strong with no trouble! 💪

Of course, the trucks are only part of the story. Pictured with the newest addition are driver Viorel Gutanu, helper Francisco Viegas Maria and David Farrell.

Keeping a busy fleet on the road takes good vehicles, good maintenance and, most importantly, good people.

Here’s to many years and plenty of kilometres ahead for the newest member of the fleet! 🚛♻️
