About TUI Credit Union

In 1967 a small group of TUI members banded together to form the first teachers Credit Union in Ireland. The group became affiliated to the Irish League of Credit Unions in November of that year. To kick-start the venture the security fund committee of TUI CU agreed to make a loan of Β£5,000 available to the group, deferring interest for three years. Three thousand pounds wa

s to be made immediately available for loans and the other two thousand was held prudently in reserve until the venture would show promise of success. The maximum loan anyone could draw down was Β£250 and the maximum period for repayment was three years. Today we provide personal loans of up to €100,000, with a maximum 10 year period. From its humble beginnings the TUI Credit Union has continued to grow. Today it has assets in excess of €43 million and has over 6,500 members throughout every county in Ireland. The Credit Union boasts one of the lowest rates of loan interest in the country. We are not for profit and if there is a surplus made this is returned to our members in the form of an annual dividend or interest rebate or re-invested in improving the services that we provide to our members. In terms of success, and the Teachers Union of Ireland has had a lot, the Credit Unions success and the service it renders to an increasing number of members must rank as the jewel in the crown. BE FRAUD AWARE!

There are many phishing scams targeting credit union members across Ireland at present.

Fraudsters are sending text messages claiming members are entitled to refunds or money back, etc. Some of these texts contain links to fake websites that ask for your online banking PIN and personal details. Shortly after, you may receive a phone call from someone pretending to be from your credit union, asking you to share a one-time passcode.

Please remember, the TUI Credit Union staff will NEVER ask you for your full PIN, online banking credentials, or one-time passcodes. If you receive a suspicious text, email or phone call claiming to be from us, do not click any links, do not share any information, and contact us directly on (01) 4266 060.

If you think you may have been targeted by this scam, please contact us immediately so we can help secure your account.
