The One Minute Checklist:
Check the tone: Does it feel rushed? Threatening? Urgent? Frustrated? Does it say, “Act now,” “Final warning,” or “Account blocked”?

We won’t pressure you like that.

Check the number or email: Does it look unusual? A random mobile number? Strange spelling in the email address?

If it’s not clearly from us, don’t trust it.

Check the link (without clicking): Hover over it (on desktop) or pause before tapping. Does the website look odd or misspelled? It may be a very subtle misspelling or include a dash.

When in doubt, don’t click. Go directly to our official website instead.

Ask yourself one simple question: “Was I expecting this?” An unexpected customs charge? A random toll fine? A security alert out of nowhere?

Scammers send thousands hoping you’ll react without thinking – it only takes one person to make it worth it for the scammers. Don’t let it be you.

Never share your one-time passcode: Not with anyone. Not even with someone claiming to be from Capital Credit Union.

We will never ask for it. Ever.
