This week we’ll be keeping a close eye on what is taking place at COP27. The annual event is being hosted in the green city of Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt and marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. As a world we now have a better understanding of the extent of the potential climate crisis and what needs to be done by all of us to address it effectively. The theme this year is around unity and looks at the areas of mitigation, adaptation, finance and collaboration. There are over 50 separate sessions across the 4 themes and full information is available on the website.

Today is World Mental Health Day. This provides us with an opportunity to re-kindle our efforts to protect and improve mental health. It is just as important to take care of our mental health as our physical health. We see, in our own industry, the increasing level of income protection claims for psychological reasons.
