COLD SPELL SHOWS NO SIGN OF STOPPING
After suffering through subzero temperatures all week, Ireland’s cold weather is not stopping anytime soon.
Met Eireann extended a nationwide Status Yellow warning for snow and ice on Thursday morning, which will now be in place until noon on Sunday.
Nights will remain very cold with temperatures as low as -4C until Sunday. Snow is expected on high grounds over Leinster, Connact and South Ulster over the weekend.
Slippery conditions have been reported on Friday morning in Letterkenny, Sligo, Castlebar, Carrick-on-Shannon, Mullingar, Longford, Monaghan and Cavan Town, according to AA Roadwatch.
And motorists have been advised to take special care on secondary and local routes and on higher ground.
Here’s how it is looking for the weekend and next week.
It's going to remain bitterly cold for the next few days
