The Guinness Choir is celebrating 75 years of singing, friendship and community – and you have the chance to be part of it…

Since 1951, the choir has brought generations of people together through music, and this milestone is being marked in style, with the world premiere concert of The City of Our Dreaming at St Patrick’s Cathedral on May 7.

This brand new choral piece – inspired by Dublin and her people – is a specially commissioned collaboration between the poet Paula Meehan and composer Seán Doherty.

There will also be a special reception will be held at the Mansion House on April 28 to honour the choir’s contribution to Dublin life.

Today, at Spry Finance we mark International Women’s Day with a celebration of older women - women who have raised families, built careers, cared for others, started again, changed direction, and who are stepping into their later lives with confidence and curiosity.

Our Head of Marketing and Communications, Ailish McGlew, sat down with Christine O’Kelly from the Age Friendly University at DCU to talk about the role of older women, the challenges they face and the enormous benefits of lifelong learning.

What the conversation shows is that there is no expiry date on curiosity, no age limit on ambition and no boundaries on what older women can achieve.
