Met Éireann has notified orange and yellow rain status for southern and eastern counties over the next 24 hours. With further heavy, persistent rain falling on already saturated ground, combined with high river levels and high tides, this may lead to localised flooding, river flooding and difficult travel conditions.
Status Orange - Rain warning for Dublin, Wicklow & Waterford
Status Yellow - Rain Warning for Cavan, Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Tipperary & Wexford.
Here are some tips to take in preparation for your safety:
- Avoid unnecessary travel, especially through flooded roads or low-lying routes
- Be cautious near coasts during high tide
