hope and prosperity, all the time rooted in the local community. We exist at the crossroads of daily life and have helped generations of local people to
save and borrow in good times and bad. We believe in the power of people, everyone
working together, watching out for one another – young and old, long-term residents and
newly arrived. As a community credit union, we are united by a common bond and a commitment to

Today is International Credit Union Day and this year there is more reason than ever to mark it.

Irish credit unions have been ranked Ireland’s best for customer experience for the 11th consecutive year, according to the CX Academy’s annual assessment published on Tuesday in the Irish Times. Customer experience scores are rising in Ireland while falling globally and credit unions are a significant reason why.

Budget 2027 has extended VRT relief for electric vehicles until 31 December 2028, giving buyers two more years to avail of up to €5,000 off the cost of a new battery electric vehicle. Combined with the €3,500 SEAI purchase grant, total support available remains at up to €8,500 on qualifying vehicles.

The urgency has eased but the case for switching is as strong as ever. With VRT rates increasing by 1% on more pollutant vehicles from 2027, petrol and diesel cars are becoming incrementally more expensive to buy.
