Behind every dog trained by AADI are months of preparation and a whole network of people who make it possible.

Cara is one of those incredible dogs who went through full training to become a School Assistance Dog. She got her name through a colouring competition we ran, won by Caoimhe Brett from Scoil Íosagáin in Thurles – and McCarthy Insurance Group funded her training through to qualification.

That training is no small undertaking: each dog requires around €15,000 to train and prepare for the real world, the result of months of dedicated work before a dog is ready to take up its place.

For the children and staff who benefit, the difference is life-changing – confidence, independence, and a steady, comforting presence day to day.

Every business starts somewhere. Ours began in 1952, in the front room of Charlie and Eily McCarthy's home in Fermoy, County Cork – a family business built on a simple principle: understand your customers, look after them properly, and earn their trust.

More than seventy years on, McCarthy Insurance Group has grown across the south of Ireland and beyond, helping thousands of families and businesses protect what matters most.
