Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) services are becoming very popular here in Ireland, but it is important to understand how it works. It may be quick and easy to use, but it has terms and conditions that can be easy to overlook.

These services are now cropping up as payment methods for many major retailers like EZ Living and Harvey Norman, as well as smaller businesses. But MABS has noted a rise in people struggling to keep up with repayments.

If you’re considering making a purchase using a BNPL service, it’s worth taking a step back and looking at all your options — including a loan from your Credit Union.
