Chartered Accountants Ireland were honoured to have welcomed the Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe on Friday for a lunch event. The Minister discussed a broad range of issues including the improving economic outlook for Ireland, the Finance Bill which has this week passed through the Dáil and now moves to the Seanad, international tax policy, and anti-tax avoidance measures, for which he asked for the input and support of the accountancy profession. Fabulous evening at the Grant Thornton corporate team 5k tonight. Very well organised, and a flat route as promised. The heavens opened as we were waiting to run so we were soaked but we didn't let that put us off. Great atmosphere, live music, and good support. We got a lovely t shirt, a medal, super goody bag and apples, bananas, coffee and sandwiches afterwards. Good outing for the OBK t shirts.
