Starting March 31, 2025, Irish drivers must provide their driver number when purchasing or renewing car insurance.

This nine-digit code, found on your driving licence, is now mandatory for all insurance policies. Failure to supply this information could result in the inability to renew your car insurance. This change aims to enhance road safety and reduce uninsured driving.

To ensure your insurance policy remains valid, please provide your driver number to your insurer before your next renewal. This update is essential for all drivers in Ireland.
