We were honoured to be invited by the Governor of The Central Bank of Ireland, Gabriel Makhlouf, to a dinner in Cavan Crystal Hotel, last evening, May 5th. The Governor shared valuable insights on the current economic landscape and outlook.
Our Cavan Women in Business Network - CWBN members engaged in an open and honest discussion, particularly around the day-to-day realities facing SMEs — including access to finance and the importance of having consistent, knowledgeable contacts within banks who understand their businesses.
There was also strong discussion around government spending and accountability, and the vital role SMEs continue to play in driving the Irish economy.
A key point raised was the importance of maintaining cash in circulation to support flexibility and resilience for small businesses.
Sincere thanks to Governor Gabriel Makhlouf, and the team in the Central Bank of Ireland for the invitation, hospitality, and for facilitating such a constructive and engaging evening.
