Your attic hatch could be leaking heat. Most are uninsulated, unsealed, or both. Adding a foam draught strip around the frame could be a quick and inexpensive way to catch the heat loss.

SEAI also recommends checking your insulation depth, with a recommendation of at least 300mm. If you can see the joists, a top-up grant may be available.

Minister Darragh O'Brien confirmed last week that the €1,800 rooftop solar grant will remain in place for the lifetime of the current government. This came after Solar Ireland's annual 'Scale of Solar 2026' report said the country's solar capacity has jumped almost 300% since 2023.

This is good news for homeowners but if there's a gap still to cover for solar panel installation, a Greenify loan can help to bridge it.

Since 2021, all new appliances sold in Ireland use a rescaled A to G energy label. The old A+++ ratings are gone, so an appliance you'd consider modern may actually sit at a D or E on the new scale.

The label applies to washing machines, dishwashers, fridges, and tumble dryers.

Electric Ireland has announced price increases of 8% on electricity and 7.7% on gas from 1st July, adding over €250 a year to the average household bill.

If your home isn’t well insulated, you’ll feel this increase even more. The good news is that SEAI grants can make a real difference, with heat pump grants of up to €12,500 available.

We are now offering Greenify loans, which can help bridge the gap between the grant and the total upgrade cost.
