As Ireland, starts to emerge from our must recent lock down, and following government announcements yesterday with the reopening of so many sectors that have been in darkness for so many months, there is certainly a light appearing at the end of what has been a very long tunnel. No more so that for our events and arts sectors who have essentially been closed for over a year.

Along with announcements made yesterday, it emerged today that the government are considering running some trial sporting and concert events, much like the music event recently held in Barcelona. This is welcome news and we know that the event professionals up and down the country will no doubt demonstrate that putting on an event can indeed be carried out safely while COVID is still in our lives.

Hopefully this will be the start of a meaningful return to live events in Ireland. Something that we are sure that we would all welcome after the last year.

We are not here yet, but this would be a huge step forward.

Eventinsure want to reassure our customers that there is some good news regarding insurance and the Irish Festival & Events Sector. Events and the cost of insurance have hit the headlines in recent weeks, with reports of the impact of fraud and claims, and its' knock on effect to the cost of insurance. Eventinsure expect a stable rating environment for the short-to-medium term, and have no planned changes to underwriting appetite or to rates in the near future. See article here
