Throughout May, our staff came together for our Steps Challenge and absolutely smashed it, reaching a phenomenal 6,594,096 collective steps and exceeding our 6 million goal.

From early morning walks to evening strolls, every step counted and it’s been amazing to see the effort, energy and team spirit across both branches.

For the fourth year in a row, Credit Unions have been named Ireland’s most reputable organisation, according to the Ireland Reputation Index 2026 — based on feedback from over 5,000 people across the country.

The research looks at what really matters to people: trust, transparency, and how organisations treat their members. It’s this everyday conduct and commitment to doing the right thing that continues to set Credit Unions apart.

Here at East Coast Credit Union, we see this reflected in our own community every day - through the relationships we build, the support we provide, and the way we look after our members.

We are aware of an issue whereby some card payments on East Coast CU current accounts are showing up as pending, despite already having been taken from member accounts. This double counting is making current account balances look lower than they should be. Our team and service providers is working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible and restore normal service.

We are also aware of an issue which affected SEPA Instant Payments, which take place in less than 10 seconds, this week. For a time, SEPA Instant payments were unavailable and members were obliged to use SEPA Classic instead, which take place over several hours or the following morning. This issue has been resolved.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate members’ patience and understanding.
