Blessington & District Credit Union was established in July 1973 and membership requires that its members live or work in the areas of Blessington, Brittas, Manor Kilbride, Lacken, Valleymount, Hollywood and Donard. These areas are known as the common bond of the Credit Union. Blessington & District Credit Union is a community based, non profit making financial co-operative which is member owned a

nd controlled, and whose philosophy is based on sound principles of equity, equality and mutual self help. It is primarily a service organisation that exists to empower people to help themselves, thereby improving the quality of their own lives and the community as a whole. The Management structure comprises 11 Directors, 3 members on the Oversight Committee, 9 members of Staff and various other committees.
