🌞🐮With the arrival of warm weather after a wet May, Agriland is urging farmers to prioritise fly control on their herds this week to keep animals healthy.
Flies thrive in warm conditions, especially following heavy rain.
As temperatures rise, flies and insects will multiply and become hard to control and can cause infections in your herd such as summer mastitis.
In terms of prevention, Agriland recommends the use of teat sealers as one effective method.
For more information on how to treat or prevent summer mastitis, check out Agriland's article on 'Fly control as warm front rolls in'.
If you have identified other areas on the farm that need investment to prioritise herd health, contact Peadar or Katrina in our Loans Department to discuss a loan? You can contact them by phone on (027) 50535 or email at [email protected]. Flexible repayments with no hidden fees.
Loans are subject to approval. T&Cs apply.
