B&S Credit Union We are a financial co-operative owned and controlled by our members, for our members.

B&S Credit Union was established in 1969 and the work of the first Board has been continued and built on over 5 decades and has created a community financial co-operative which serves over 10,000 member in its common bond. The B&S has seen three changes of currency and premises changes until we moved into our excellent new building in 1999. This was renovated in 2017 and we now have a beautiful building from which to serve the community.

Credit unions were built on a simple idea: people pooling their savings to support each other. At B&S Credit Union in Ballybofey, that idea is still how we work. Every member is an owner, and the money saved here stays in our common bond, our community.

We've been made aware of a scam text message telling members that €2,000 is being transferred from their account to another account, often under an Irish-sounding name. It asks you to ring a phone number if you didn't authorise the payment.

This message is FAKE. Please remember:

❌ We will NEVER send a text message like this
❌ We will NEVER ask you to ring an unfamiliar number to stop a transaction
❌ Do NOT call the number, click any links or share any personal or banking details
✅ If you're worried, contact us directly on Freephone 1800 290 390

Farmers are looking ahead to colder weather and should make sure winter housing is ready.

Agriland is advising farmers to get scraper and cubicle maintenance done, clean and disinfect sheds and check cubicle numbers are sufficient before housing. An uncomfortable cubicle can negatively impact the animal, reducing rumination and affecting target weights. If shed repairs are needed before housing, Cultivate can help fund it.

Over 24,821 farmers applied for the Beef Welfare Scheme 2026 before its closing date, up 1.4% on last year. The €28 million scheme targets suckler farms, with mandatory meal feeding pre and post-weaning and optional vaccination actions against clostridial diseases, calf pneumonia and bluetongue.

Strong uptake reflects how important scheme income is to suckler farmers right now.
