SEAI's latest data, based on 23,412 upgrades completed in the first half of 2026, puts the median cost of a heat pump upgrade for a detached home at €17,000. Available grant support can reach €12,500.

Since last Friday July 31st, the SEAI €3,500 EV grant will apply only to new electric cars priced up to €50,000, down from €60,000.
This grant for buying a new battery-powered electric vehicle (BEV) will continue to help people make the switch to electric cars.
