Still on our Alpha-X Partner, Erika Dianasari, who recently held an in-depth talks with The Ken on the tech massive layoffs which has been happening since throughout 2022 and how startups and VCs can start handling human capital better.

Talent management is one of the key aspects one needs to build and scale a company. Talent exits, as a part of talent management, cannot be something taboo. The key, however, is communication. The company needs to ensure that even if they do talent exits, they conduct it properly—people get what is rightfully theirs and the company follows the regulation.

As the startup scenes are so full of uncertainties, what startups and VCs can do better is capacity planning—data-driven hiring process, a clear objective with detailed KPI measuring everything, and do a better alignment on what the company wants to build and what it wants to prioritise.
