BritCham Indonesia met with Juliani Kusumaningrum, Executive Director of Kendal Special Economic Zone (SEZ), for an introductory discussion on the development and investment landscape of the zone.

The discussion covered SEZ Kendal's investor base, key sectors, investment incentives, licensing facilitation, infrastructure, and local workforce development. SEZ Kendal currently hosts 124 operating companies and 27 under construction, with 76% of investors being international.

Looking ahead, SEZ Kendal sees strong potential in textiles, renewable energy, electronics, automotive, and maritime and defence-related supply chains, alongside a more targeted strategy to strengthen its industrial ecosystem.

SEZ Kendal also expressed interest in deeper engagement with UK and European businesses through trade missions and matchmaking, opening up further opportunities for future UK–Indonesia investment linkages.
