5 things to remind yourself when things are hard financially :
I personally have been there back in 1994 with having only few thousands in my account while raising a 3 months old baby.
So I get it.
And, there is light at the end of the tunnel. But, everyone's
journey through that time period is so different in both
experience & length.
My hope is that, if you are going through financial hardship,
this time period is brief.
1. Don't stress over what you can't control
Just as you can't control whether it's going to be a rainy or sunny day tomorrow, unfortunately there are many things in life that you can't control.
Focus more on what you can control like reducing daily expenses, find options on how to lower mortgage rates, finding creative ways to save money.
2. Look for opportunities
Sometimes it feels like there just AREN'T any. But, if you put
yourself out there & look, there might be some that surprise
you.
A side hustle is a huge help during such times.
3. What are you grateful for?
It's easy to focus on the negative at this moment of time. But think of those things you have which can't be bought with money.
It can be your good health, your supportive family, a friend to talk to.
4. Believe it will get better
It's crucial not to lose hope because hope is a motivating force that will help you take actions to move forward to bring brighter days.
Surround yourself with financially positive people.
5. Plan ahead
We all go through tough financial times at one point or the other in our life. It can be due to sickness, job-loss, demise of a bread-winner, etc. So it's important to have a plan when things go bad.
Preparing for the unexpected ahead of time will help you get through the financial ups- and-downs more smoothly.
