An Exhibition by NUSAÉ
ARCH:ID 2026

This exhibition presents Nusaé’s exploration of material—not merely as a physical element, but as a way of thinking within the design process. Departing from the reciprocal relationship between design and material, it positions material as the point of departure that shapes direction, character, and experience.

Developed in its spatial form in collaboration with Dhaniesal, and supported by Paperina and Rimpang Digital, the exhibition frames material as a medium of communication—one that operates through its physical presence and interaction with space.

This approach reflects Nusaé’s ongoing effort to expand graphic design practice—from a two-dimensional medium into a more spatial and integrated experience.

Bagaimana jika material menentukan arah desain?
Bagaimana jika desain menentukan karakter material?

Dua pertanyaan ini membuka kemungkinan baru dalam melihat relasi antara desain dan material—bahwa material bukan sekadar elemen fungsional, tetapi juga bahasa yang menyampaikan gagasan melalui bentuk, tekstur, dan kehadirannya dalam ruang.

Melalui eksplorasi ini, Nusaé melihat material sebagai titik awal sekaligus medium yang membentuk hubungan antara ide, ruang, dan pengalaman.

Pameran ini merunutkan dua pendekatan: saat desain membentuk material dan saat material membentuk desain. Di antara keduanya, muncul berbagai kemungkinan bagaimana material dapat diceritakan ulang, diarahkan kembali, atau justru mempertegas narasi yang telah dimilikinya.

Art direction & spatial graphics for Sawo Coffee Rontgen.

An approach where materials become a medium of communication—translating the character and context of Rontgen into a spatial experience. The visual language draws from the impression of “rontgen” itself, creating a subtle yet distinctive identity.
