🌍 Different waters. Different conditions. One shared pursuit of exceptional IOM performance.

From China to the Germany, Australia and Canada, we often receive reports that Sailboat RC continues to find a way onto podiums around the world.

🇨🇳 China – "4th Cross-Strait Remote Control Sailing Regatta": A strong showing for our IOM designs, with Gong Qunxing securing silver with his K2 and another podium finish with Jimmy Teo bringing home bronze with his green VISS.

🇩🇪 Germany Herbst-Cup Ohlenstedt : Another podium result for Peter Jürgens, taking silver with his new VISS while whole podium also sailed using Sailboat RC sails/rigs.

🇦🇺 Australia – Gold Cup 1 : John Gratton claimed gold sailing his K2 showing up at the top yet again.

🇨🇦 Canada – COSCO Cup 8 : Jerry Brower added another medal to the K2 collection securing silver this time.

But, no matter if you are sailing local events, or worlds most competitive IOM regattas, true performance is never an accident if you want to stay consistently at the very top with many years of proven track records behind you. Some like to claim that "this or that is not important in IOM" and we currently have big melting pot of ideas which is good basically. But, words are easy to write and say, true undeniable test is time.

And, we know every sailor has little bit different preferences, ideas and approaches. That diversity is what makes our IOM class so fascinating. But when it comes to evaluating our own work, we believe results speak louder than any promises. So, with 20 years of time that passed since our whole Sailboat RC idea started in 2006., we can't be more proud on all of you guys sailing in many countries who push your limits, test skills and keep on having a blast out there. It's hard to find a better way to explore world then through lens of spectacular IOM sailing.

To everyone sharing with us achievements of you and your friends, photographs and all the experiences so far: thank you. Your commitment is what keeps us designing, engineering and pushing forward.

What does the America’s Cup have in common with IOM racing?

More than the scale might suggest: constant development, precise performance gains, pressure under race conditions, and the need to make complex boats feel simple in the hands of the sailor.

That is why it is particularly interesting to see Ken Read stepping into a fresh America’s Cup chapter — while also being part of the growing group of highly knowledgeable sailors who have discovered Sailboat RC and chosen to sail our VISS.

Different boats. Different budgets. Same fascination with extracting more from wind, water, design and decision-making.

For us, that crossover is one of the most interesting parts of modern radio sailing: increasingly, serious sailors from very different corners of the sport are finding their way into IOM.

And that makes the class even more exciting.

A demanding final day, great company and plenty to celebrate in Helsinki. 🇫🇮⛵

The IOM Nordic Championship 2026 wrapped up with B rigs and lots of racing. The breeze came from the same general direction as the previous day, blowing over land and bringing frequent shifts that kept everyone working for every place.

Congratulations to Zvonko (CRO 35) on another overall victory, with special congratulations to Odd (NOR 90), our new Nordic Champion (silver in total)! 👏 A fantastic achievement for this seasoned Norway sailor in nice windy conditions with many sailing skills tested throughout while event. Another great sailor, Soren (DEN 93), managed to climb on the podium and sn**ch bronze medal.

For our Sailboat RC brand, gold and silver overall and a top 10 dominated by VISS and K2 sailboats made this another memorable event. Both designs performed beautifully, guided by sailors whose skill and judgement made significant difference throughout the fleet.

Ashore, the friendly atmosphere, time spent together and excellent food made the experience just as enjoyable. Our Masterclass was another highlight, successfully completed with a great group of sailors. We’re especially pleased that our co-owner Zvonko could share his experience with everyone who joined us. Thank you for being part of it!

A heartfelt thank you to HSK, FiRCs and everyone behind the event. Our hosts should be proud of their efforts, thoughtful organisation and warm welcome.

This demanding Helsinki venue will welcome many of the IOM class’s best for the 2027 European Championship. After this weekend, there is plenty to look forward to.

Two days completed at the 2026 Open IOM Nordic Championship — and the final day is still waiting for us today.

Both racing days were sailed entirely on B rig, mostly in mid-B conditions. On Day 1, the wind was mainly from the north, running almost parallel to the sailing pontoon, which meant racing through noticeable waves and a more open-water feel. Day 2 brought a different challenge, with the breeze more from the NW–W, coming into a flatter sailing area and mixing directions across the course. The result was a very different type of racing, but still firmly in B-rig territory.

The fleet has had plenty of action and, from what we can see, sailors seem very happy with the conditions. Nine races were completed on the first day, with the remaining races bringing the total to 15 after Day 2.

The results shown at this stage are not final — everything is still open before today’s final day.

Some of the photos in this carousel are also from our Masterclass Essentials in Helsinki, held just before the championship, so quite a few sailors are probably carrying a little extra fatigue into the regatta after several intense days on the water, but extra experience will follow up soon. The final photo shows this morning’s conditions, as we wait to see what the last day will bring.

New 2026 coverage just released for all RC sailing enthusiast all over the globe!

The 20th Rogoznica’s Cup – Navigation Race is now available with beautiful drone footage from one of world’s most scenic sailing venues which sits on shores of Croatia.

Alongside the IOM action on the water, this coverage captures the atmosphere of Rogoznica at its best — the picturesque peninsula with its narrow city streets, crystal-clear blue and emerald-green sea, quiet coastal views, and the unique Adriatic setting that makes this regatta more than just racing.

This time, Sailboat RC co-founder Zvonko Jelačić appears in a new role as commentator, adding another layer to the story behind the race. We took his vacation day, gave him a microphone, and reminded him there is no rest for 4x world champion when IOM sailors want answers.

Important update for our clients in the United States 📦 🇺🇸 (please help share this good news so your USA friends know about it too!)

DHL has informed us about a refund process connected to certain IEEPA import duties previously charged on shipments entering the United States.

Following a U.S. court decision, some IEEPA-based tariffs were ruled unlawful, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection introduced a refund procedure for qualifying shipments.

For some Sailboat RC customers, this may apply if you imported a Sailboat RC shipment into the United States during the affected period and were also charged an IEEPA duty by U.S. Customs/DHL.

What this means for U.S. customers:

• The refund applies only to qualifying IEEPA duties. It does not include regular customs duties, DHL service fees, brokerage fees, or other import-related charges.

• If DHL was the Importer of Record, DHL may submit the refund request automatically.

• If you were listed as the Importer of Record, you may need to contact DHL or your customs broker to check whether your shipment qualifies.

• Processing may take time. CBP indicates many valid refunds may be processed within 60–90 days after acceptance, while DHL notes that some cases may take up to 180 days.

Sailboat RC did not collect these U.S. import duties directly. They were charged and processed through the U.S. import/customs system.

If you imported a Sailboat RC product into the United States and believe you may have paid an IEEPA duty, please check your DHL import documentation, duty invoice, waybill, and customs payment records.
