【 】Alumni Quotes 74: Mr Jonathan Yip Sing-kit and Mr Andy Chiu

📢The inaugural Global “AI+Fashion” Innovation Application Competition was successfully held in Shenzhen. 🥳 Congratulations to Mr Jonathan Yip and Mr Andy Chiu, our Fashion and Textiles graduates, on winning the Golden Spoonbill Award and the Bronze Spoonbill Award! 🏆

Under their creative leadership, AI does more than simply “generate images” – it can also step onto the production floor. 🤖 Their innovative project, KnitGenius AI, pioneers a “data-to-image” approach that makes designs production-ready 🏭 by simultaneously reconstructing the underlying physical loop structures and technical parameters 📊, earning it the well-deserved Golden Spoonbill Award in the Innovative Solutions Track. The dynamic duo also won the Bronze Spoonbill Award in the Creative Design Track for KNIT.exe 🧶, which brings together computer science, materials engineering, and traditional craftsmanship to harness AI throughout the fashion design process. 👏🏻

🙌🏻We look forward to seeing Jonathan and Andy continue to unlock new possibilities in digital fashion and bring even more innovative applications to the industry! 👕

【 】Congratulations to Mr Matthew Chan Hau-man, our Physiotherapy graduate, on being named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons! 🥳

A holder of two master’s degrees, Matthew has been dedicated to uplifting the underprivileged. 👍🏻 To provide more effective rehabilitation support for people with Parkinson’s disease, he equipped his clinic with Hong Kong’s first commercial hydrotherapy pool and an Olympic-standard water-circulation swimming system, sponsored patients’ treatments, and organised volunteer services. 🧑🏻‍⚕️ To help young people get back on track, he generously shares his journey of losing direction in youth and turning life around. ⭐ Matthew is using knowledge and expertise to give back to society – and making the alma mater proud! 👏🏻
