🌱🏃‍♂️ Alumni Career Talk: The Power of Sustainability (11 September)

Join us for an inspiring alumni career talk by Dr Andes Leung, a distinguished PolyU DBA alumnus, and Co-founder and CEO of "RunOurCity" RunOurCity 全城街馬, a social enterprise dedicated to transforming lives through the promotion of street running.

Drawing on his recent running journeys, Dr Leung will explore how sustainability goes beyond endurance and pacing. His story and experience will also highlight how sustainability can be meaningful and impactful in our personal lives, career development, and beyond.

【 #以理為榮 】 #理的故事 27：用雙手說故事的黃文翰

有些城市記憶，不在博物館裡，而是在掌心之間。

近月，小小的「六合彩搖搖匙扣」成為網上熱話。輕輕一搖，七個號碼滾落掌心，把我們熟悉的「買個希望」，化成隨身玩味日常。這枚熱賣6,000個的匙扣，出自理大校友黃文翰（Joe）的巧思，並邀請香港耀能協會的學員參與製作，每個匙扣均經過30多道工序細作而成。

Joe說：「這是工廠量產比不了、AI也取代不了的東西。」

這位設計師的手作哲學，要從擺滿老家具的家說起。父親愛木器、愛水墨，瓷器與剪紙上的紋樣，早早縫進他的童年。後來修讀理大產品分析及設計學學士、設計策略碩士，Joe既學會了機械原理與產品結構，亦懂得如何把創意點子實現，成為可以觸摸、使用與珍藏的作品。

畢業後，他將目光投向剪紙工藝，十多年來開發超過200件產品，包括以帆船、花牌、獅頭為主角，創作深受旅客歡迎的紙雕賀卡；與百年醬料品牌合作，以鏤空層疊技法在XO醬禮盒上勾勒維港景致，成為全運會的特許商品；還有為母校85周年校慶設計紀念珍藏杯墊，展現理大的特色建築、發展歷史，以及對國家航天任務的貢獻。

他的作品也走出掌心。2018年意大利Lucca Biennale國際紙藝術雙年展，Joe以過千件零件製作出3米高的素瓷花瓶；去年亦於Art Central展出《夢瓶生花》，在2米乘2米的立體花園中，僅憑單一紙色與光影層疊，開出滿園生機。不斷精進的工藝實力，為他帶來意大利「A’ Design Award」、「DFA亞洲最具影響力設計獎」、《透視》雜誌「亞洲四十驕子」等的肯定。

然而，比起獎項與掌聲，Joe更珍視作品背後的每雙手。他與庇護工場合作生產零售產品，並為學員設計輔助工具，讓複雜工序不再遙不可及。在他眼中，設計不止於好看，更關乎參與、連結，是人與人之間值得被看見的價值。

從一張剪紙到一枚匙扣，這位校友一直實踐創富創善的精神。Joe說：「喜歡一件事，就不要想太多，去做。」在講求速度、複製與演算法的今天，他堅持本地原創，用雙手說故事──這份初心，彌足珍貴。
