The HKUST–NYU Stern Master of Science in Global Finance (MSGF) is designed around exposure to three key financial centers — Hong Kong, New York, and Abu Dhabi — offering a multi-market perspective on global finance.

✨ 𝐀 𝐝𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐠

Our Class of 2026 has just wrapped up their Hong Kong module — a wonderful milestone, and great to see the cohort together in Hong Kong.

Special thanks to Prof. Vidhan Goyal, Prof. Utpal Bhattacharya , and Prof. Abhiroop Mukherjee for their inspiring teaching and engagement throughout the module.

We were also delighted to have speakers from Kroll share valuable first-hand insights on valuation, adding a highly practical perspective to the discussion.

The networking did not stop in the classroom, we hosted a get-together with our Hong Kong–based alumni to reconnect and strengthen our growing MSGF community here.

And last but not least, a full house at our “Bubbles for AI” seminar by Professor Kasper Nielsen, an engaging and thought-provoking session on a very timely topic.

We were delighted to host multiple full-house sessions of Professor Kasper Nielsen’s talk, “Bubbles for AI?”, in Singapore and Jakarta together with our valued partners CFA Society Singapore, Kadin Indonesia, and the NYU Alumni Clubs in Singapore and Indonesia.

Across the sessions, we explored how rapid advances in AI are reshaping investor expectations, raising timely questions and drawing parallels with earlier technology cycles, including the dot-com era.

Join us in Jakarta for an exclusive seminar jointly organized by HKUST-NYU Stern MS in Global Finance, Kadin Indonesia, and the NYU Alumni Club in Indonesia.

In this seminar, Prof. Kasper Nielsen from Copenhagen Business School and HKUST Business School will explore how rapid advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI), together with rising geopolitical risk, are reshaping company valuations and investor expectations across financial markets. Past technological shifts (dot com, crypto) and geopolitical shocks show how hype—and underreaction to external events—can produce inflated valuations.

By analyzing case studies of AI companies and examining market responses to rising geopolitical risk, Prof. Nielsen will also discuss the broader implications for financial markets and how investors can navigate these risks.

Attendees will leave with actionable tools and frameworks to evaluate AI-driven growth, stress test valuations under geopolitical risk, and assess the sustainability of the current financial landscape.

A truly rewarding day for the MSGF program in Shanghai!

We had the pleasure of hosting two insightful finance seminars at the HKUST Shanghai Center, including one jointly organized with HKUST DBA Program. Featuring Professor Jialin Yu, the discussions brought together alumni and students from HKUST Business School, NYU Stern School of Business, and guests to exchange perspectives on the evolving global finance landscape.

The day concluded with a get-together dinner with the MSGF alumni and students, bringing them together to reconnect and strengthen our alumni network.
