What does accessibility actually mean for MPF? 🦻 ♿ 💬 💡
MPF was built to protect every worker in Hong Kong — regardless of language, background, ability, or belief. But a system that works for most people isn't the same as one that works for all of them. When someone can't navigate the platform, understand their statements, or invest in line with their values, they're effectively excluded from a right that's meant to be theirs.
Real progress is being made. Digital inclusion initiatives, interpretation services, and disability support frameworks are all steps in the right direction.
But there's still more to do. True accessibility in MPF means clearer platforms, multilingual communication, meaningful disability support, and fund options that reflect different beliefs — like Shariah-compliant investing. It also means schemes proactively thinking about the diverse needs of their members across communication, platform design, customer support, and fund offerings.
Because a retirement system built for everyone should work for everyone.
