The National Insurance Scheme led by General Manager, Mrs. Holly Greaves joined President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali on his two‑day Cabinet Outreach to Region 10.

During the outreach at Coomacka Mines and Victory Valley, the Scheme provided essential services, addressing NIS-related queries, and assisting contributors and pensioners with important information regarding their benefits and contributions.

𝗣𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 are reminded that today Tuesday, September 1, 2026 is National Insurance Scheme Pension's Day.

Pension payments are paid from the first working day of every month, to align with Old Age Pension payments.

𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗕𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗 that our new payment options include Bill Express, MoneyGram, and Mobile Money Guyana (MMG)

This expansion ensures that our pensioners receive their benefits in a convenient, comfortable, and dignified manner.

Remember, to walk with your National Identification Card and NIS card (where applicable) when transacting business with NIS.

📢 How to Apply for an NIS Card

Getting your NIS Card is simple! ✅ Follow these three easy steps:

1️⃣ Visit your nearest NIS Office
Get an NIS Card from the Brickdam & Winterplace, Camp & Bent Street Office or any NIS Local Office nearest to you.

2️⃣ Complete the Registration Form 📝
Fill out the NIS Registration Form (Form R4) and provide the required supporting documents, including your Birth Certificate (or valid Passport), National Identification Card, and Marriage Certificate (if applicable).

3️⃣ Processing & Collection
Once your application is processed, you will be assigned an NIS Number.

Services at the National Insurance Scheme, Camp and Bent Office are temporarily interrupted for approximately two hours due to an emergency situation that occurred.

Members of the public wishing to access services can do so at our Head Office located at Brickdam and Winterplace, Georgetown.

UncappeD Marketplace 2026 | Over the weekend the National Insurance Scheme participated in UncappeD, the Guyanese Agro-processors Exhibition, Market and Food Festival which is organized and facilitated by the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA).

Patrons visited our booth where our inspectors and records staff registered self-employed persons, resolve queries and provide other information relating to the scheme.
