Good morning to all our dear friends, and wishing you a beautiful and peaceful weekend.
Our day here at the shelter began at the crack of dawn — and, as usual, there was no time to waste. I have so many things to take care of every single day, and this morning was especially important, as our wonderful veterinarian, Dr. Sotiris, came to vaccinate 75 of our dogs.
A very special thank you to my dear friend Ioanna, who came to help me. It was not an easy task at all. It took us almost three hours, but we did it — one by one, all 75 of my babies were vaccinated.
Now I can finally breathe a little easier. They are all protected, all vaccinated, and I know that I have done what I can to keep them safe.
I had delayed their vaccinations slightly because of the extreme heat. I simply couldn't bear the thought of taking any unnecessary risk with their health during such difficult weather conditions. Thankfully, because I am always very careful and consistent with their care, we were still within the required vaccination schedule.
Today, more than anything, I feel an enormous sense of relief.
But alongside that relief comes another very heavy worry: how will I manage to pay the veterinarian?
The cost of caring for so many animals is something I carry with me every single day. There are always vaccinations, food, medicines, veterinary care and so many unexpected expenses. And behind every one of those expenses is a living soul who depends entirely on me.
So, my dear friends, I am once again asking for your help.
I truly hope and believe that, as you have done so many times before, you will stand beside me and support me financially. Even the smallest contribution makes a difference. Together, you help me continue giving these beautiful souls the care, safety and love they deserve.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for helping me care for the "strays of my soul" who have found a home in my shelter, our little Dog Village.
They cannot ask for help themselves. So I ask for them.
