On 24 June 2026, the Gambia Armed Forces Cooperative Credit Union (GAFCCU) conducted the presentation of a new batch of tricycles and motorcycles to its esteemed members under the 2026 fiscal year asset financing programme.
The presentation ceremony was held at the GAFCCU Headquarters in Yundum Barracks and was led by Major Fatou Betty Jammeh, Acting Manager, alongside the Deputy Manager, Warrant Officer Amadou Barry, and the Administrative Officer, Warrant Officer Alasanna Sanyang.
The initiative reflects GAFCCU's continued commitment to improving the welfare and economic empowerment of its members by providing access to productive assets that support their livelihoods.

GAFCCU MANAGER COLONEL LAMIN K. SANYANG OBTAINS MASTER'S DEGREE FROM THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF HIGHER MILITARY EDUCATION
The Gambia Armed Forces Cooperative Credit Union (GAFCCU) proudly congratulates Colonel Lamin K. Sanyang on the successful completion of his studies at the Royal College of Higher Military Education (CREMS) in Kenitra, Kingdom of Morocco.
Colonel Sanyang was among the participants of the 26th Higher Defence Course and the 60th Staff Course, which graduated on Thursday, 11 June 2026. He successfully earned a Master's Degree in National Defence.
The graduation ceremony was presided over by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan on behalf of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco.
The Royal College of Higher Military Education in Kenitra is Morocco's premier institution for senior military leadership training. Established to develop top-ranking officers from the Royal Armed Forces and partner nations, the institution has grown into a key strategic hub for African and international defence cooperation.

On Thursday, 30th April 2026, the Commerce students of Grades 10 to 12 from Yundum Barracks Senior Secondary School embarked on an educational visit to Gambia Armed Forces Cooperative Credit Union with the aim of understanding the operations and services of the union.
Upon arrival, the students were formally received by the Acting Manager, Major Fatou Betty Jammeh, and the Acting Deputy Manager, WOI Amadou Barry, alongside members of the Accounts Section. The session provided the students with valuable practical knowledge and insights into cooperative financial management.

On 15th December 2025, the Manager of the Gambia Armed Forces Cooperative Credit Union (GAFCCU), Major Fatou Betty Jammeh, together with members of the Board, officially presented tricycles and motorcycles to its esteemed members during a ceremony held at the GAFCCU Headquarters at Yundum Barracks.

The Manager congratulated the beneficiaries and advised them to ride safely and responsibly. She further encouraged members to continue making good use of GAFCCU services in order to benefit from its various support schemes and enhance their economic well-being.
