Just because I said no doesn't mean you should go and date someone else😂 part 1, One sunny afternoon, under a mango tree that had heard more relationship secrets than a therapist, a guy named Emeka finally gathered courage. His heart was beating like generator with low fuel. He cleared his throat and said:
“My love… I have been patient, I have been consistent, I have been loyal. Will you be my girlfriend?”
The lady, Blessing, adjusted her wig, checked her phone, checked her reflection on Emeka’s forehead, and replied calmly:
“No.”
Emeka smiled painfully. “Oh… okay. I respect your decision.”
He went home, deleted her number, cried small, and two months later, started dating Ada, a nice girl who replied messages on time and even asked ‘have you eaten?’ 🍲
Life was sweet again.
🚨 FAST FORWARD THREE WEEKS 🚨
Emeka was minding his business when his phone vibrated like it owed money.
Blessing:
“So I heard you’re dating someone else.”
Emeka:
“Yes. You said no, so I moved on.”
There was silence… then chaos.
Blessing:
“😡😡😡 Are you okay upstairs? Just because I said NO doesn’t mean you should go and date someone else!”
Emeka blinked. Once. Twice.
“Sorry… what?”
Blessing continued typing with the confidence of a Supreme Court judge:
“You were supposed to WAIT for me.
I know what I’m doing.
This is simple logos love logic.”
Emeka dropped his phone. Picked it up again. Checked the calendar. Checked his brain.
“Wait… you rejected me.”
“Yes,” she replied proudly.
“But rejection doesn’t mean freedom. It means pause.”
“Pause for how long?” Emeka asked.
She replied:
“Until I’m ready. Could be next year. Could be after I finish observing you.”
“Observing me how?”
“By watching you suffer and remain loyal without benefits.”
😯😯😯
Emeka tried to reason:
“So you didn’t want me, but you also don’t want anyone else to have me?”
Blessing replied confidently:
“Exactly. You’re learning fast.”
“Then why didn’t you say yes?”
She said:
“Because saying yes immediately reduces value. You must be available but unavailable.”
At this point, Emeka’s soul left his body and returned with popcorn. 🍿
She added the final blow:
“Break up with that girl. If you truly love me, you will wait. Love is patience.”
Emeka replied:
“Madam, patience is waiting in traffic, not waiting in rejection.”
Blessing gasped.
“Wow. So all these months of me ignoring you meant nothing?”
Emeka answered calmly:
“It meant you were not interested.”
She replied angrily:
“No! It meant I was strategically confusing.”
Emeka stared at his phone, shook his head, and whispered:
“Some people don’t want you… they just don’t want you to belong to anyone else.”
He muted the chat, hugged his new girlfriend, and lived peacefully.
Blessing?
She later posted online:
“Men are wicked. You reject them once and they move on. Where is the loyalty?”
🤣🤣🤣
Moral of the story:
If someone says no and still wants you on standby, that’s not love — that’s emotional NEPA: light off, light on, nobody knows the schedule. 😭⚡
