Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. , (born 17 October 1984) known by his stage name
Shatta Wale (formerly Bandana ), is a Ghanaian born producer and reggae – dancehall musician. He is best known for his biggest breakthrough hit song Dancehall King which led to he winning the Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Ghana Music Awards . Shatta Wale also demonstrated that he can act as well when he featured in Shattered Lives with Bisa Kdei and Majid Michel
Career
Charles attended Winneba Secondary School and during that time he was popularly known as ‘DOGGY’. He changed his name to “Bandana” after senior high school and released the hit track “Bandana from Ghana”. The song made tremendous air waves in the
Ghanaian music industry in 2004. After the release of his first Album titled Bandana from Ghana, then Bandana went into musical hiatus until he re-branded himself to Shatta Wale and released his hit song Dancehall King in 2013. He is the leader, chief executive officer (CEO) and founder of the Shatta Movement (SM) or (SM4LYF).
Shatta Wale’s rise happened at the 2013 VGMAs, with his musical dexterity, he composed a song against the organisers of the Ghana Music Awards titled Me Need No Awards because he alleged the organisers robbed him off the Dancehall Artiste of the Year to female Dancehall Artiste Kaakie . The song had very uncharitable lyrics. This the media, bloggers and other entertainment pundits claim led to his breakthrough and relevance in the Ghana Music Industry.
His greatest hit in 2013, Dancehall king took the airwaves by surprise. Shatta wale’s musical revenue is mostly generated through hosting of shows which attracts most 1000’s of Ghanaian youths.
In January 2014, Shatta Wale, joined hundreds of Ghanaians to welcome the Queen’s Baton Relay, which was on tour of some Commonwealth countries, ahead of the games in August 2014. Grateful for the opportunity given him, he took to social media to thank those who made it happen.

In May 2014, British Newspaper, The Guardian, reported that the five must listen to tracks from around the world includes Shatta Wale’s song Wine Ya Waist featuring Davido from Nigeria.In the same year 2014, his song
You Can’t Touch Me was widely used for the Dancers Against Racism CampaignWorldwide.
In 2015, Shatta Wale asked not to be nominated in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards even though he could have won the prestigious Artiste & Song of the year for the second time running with his hit songs Dancehall Commando featuring
Sarkodie ,Party all night long featuring Jah Vinci Wine ya waist featuring Davido and Korle Gonno among many hit songs he released the preceding year: because of a pending court case with the organisers of the awards, Charter House Productions Limited for allegedly making defamatory remarks against the CEO of Charter House in a video he uploaded on his page.
Shatta Wale’s hardwork in 2014, got him nominated for the maiden GN Bank Awards as the People’s Choice Male Musician of the year. He was also named the 38th Most Influential Ghanaian by E-TV Ghana in 2015 in their annual survey of influential people in Ghana. He is the dancehall Messiah. He resurrected dancehall in Ghana.

Internationally, Wale is also popular in the United States where the Dancehall superstar has been ranked number one based on 24,000 votes on Ranker.com ‘s list of “Best Dancehall Artists of All Time.”
Philanthropy
During Christmas festivities of 2014, Shatta Wale took the opportunity to visit the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Ghana’s biggest hospital to donate generously to the Children’s Block worth Thousands of Ghanaian cedi whilst many were spending time with friends and family.
Shatta Wale, Light A Million Lives and Quallo’s Production along with Gasmilla , Keche, Episode and Dada Halfco donated to the victims of the twin disasters (flood and fire) that occurred in Accra on 3 June 2015 in which hundreds of people lost their lives. The group brought along Food, Water, Antiseptic Liquid, Antiseptic Soap, Wipes, Sanitizers, Clothes and a whole lot of items to support the victims.
As part of his philanthropy works, on February 8, 2016, Shatta Wale donated some items to the Police Hospital in Accra. These items included 3 LED TV, Wheel Chairs, Beverages, Detergents, and many others. He also made an undisclosed cash donation to save the life of a young girl and also to help with general administrative work at the government-owned establishment. According to Shatta, he chose the Police Hospital because “Today we donated some items to the police hospital in Accra-Osu. Since this was the hospital I was born in, I and my shatta movement management and crew decided to visit the children’s ward. We will be visiting most hospitals as time goes on.. ”.

Biography
The newest addition to the many "Lil's" in the
hip hop music industry, Lil Wayne , is a force
to be reckoned with. His debut album, "Tha
Block is Hot " (1999), went double platinum
upon its release and even his lowest selling
album is still certified as gold upon the album
release by Recording Industry Association of
America (RIAA). Despite his success in the
music industry, Lil Wayne's childhood
experiences, like many other rap and hip hop
singers, were far from perfect.
Born as Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. on
September 27, 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana
to Dwayne Michael Turner and Jacinda Carter,
who was then 19 years old, Lil Wayne was
forced to bid goodbye to his father who
abandoned him and his mother right after he
was born. During that time, he and his
mother were forced to survive by themselves
in the criminal-infested community at
Hollygrove division of New Orleans.
Fortunate enough, soon afterwards, his
mother met Reginald "Rabbit" McDonald, who
eventually became his stepfather. Years later,
his stepfather moved the family out from the
poverty-stricken Hollygrove to East New
Orleans. By that time, Lil Wayne had begun to
develop his interest in hip hop and rap music.
Influenced by Cash Money Recording artists
like Pimp Daddy and U.N.L.V., he began
rapping at block parties. His performance at
one of the parties caught the attention of Lil
Slim, a Cash Money rapper. Through the
recording artist, Lil Wayne met the Cash
Money Records moguls, Brian "Baby" Williams
and Ronald "Slim" Williams. Though his free
styling talent left strong impressions on the
two tycoons, Lil Wayne did not get a contract
with Cash Money until he repeatedly left
freestyles recording on Baby's answering
machine.
At the tender age of 11 years old, Lil Wayne
at last got his shot to sign up with Cash
Money, being the Records' youngest rapper. A
year after signing the contract, Lil Wayne
caught in an incident that almost took his life.
He accidentally shot himself in chest with his
stepfather gun, putting him on life support for
two weeks.
Recovering from his incident, Lil Wayne
marched on to welcome his first gig, in which
he was hooked up with another newcomer,
Lil' Doggie, later more well-known as B.G. , to
form a rap group The B.G.'z. With this group,
the young rapper only recorded and released
one album, "True Story" (1995), which did not

I lost 6 kids; spent weekends at my wife’s
grave - Koo Nimo Celebrated songwriter, philosopher, lecturer and award-
winning musician, Agya Koo Nimo has
revealed some struggles along his celebrated
life starting with the tragedy of losing his first
wife. In an interview on Joy FM Super Morning
Show, Agya Koo Nimo said the death of his
first wife made him “non-existent”. “[During] weekends I would just drive to my
wife’s graveyard and just commune with
her.....somebody reported me to my uncle”,
he recounted. Agya Koo Nimo says his wife died barely a
month after he lost his 5th out of 10 bubbly
children. She passed away a day after she
gave birth. He is no stranger to tragedy. Some of the children died stillborn, whilst
others died from pneumonia and congenital
heart troubles. Telling the story of how he met his first wife,
Agya Koo Nimo says while hospitalized with
ulcer at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital,
she came along with a friend to visit him.
Although they never spoke during his
hospitalization, he says, “she was always smiling at me”. After he was discharged, he planned to leave
for Bekwai where he was expecting to
perform as a guitarist. But before he could
leave this young lady knocked at his door. The lady expressed her displeasure that he
was leaving for a concert so soon after he was
discharged. The lady was also surprised to
learn that he had been discharged because she
had prepared to visit him in the hospital with
some food. 'A bachelor boy' as he was, the encounter
confirmed the popular axiom that the way to a
man’s heart is his stomach. “I will marry you” a violent promise he made
to the woman. Love makes time fly fast and
soon she was put in a family way. Her parents found much to their chagrin, that
the man responsible for the pregnancy plays a
guitar. “How can you marry a guitarist some of whom
are noted for getting drunk at funerals?”. “But father he also works in a Laboratory”, he
quoted her wife’s response. But the
convincing factor for her father was when he
discovered that Agya Koo Nimo was related to
his very good friend. “Then this marriage will work”, his
prospective father-in-law placed his seal of
approval based on the character of his very
good friend. And it did work until death tore them apart on
21st September 1973 making a philosopher
out of the singer and songwriter. He remarried
and lost yet another child with the new wife
bringing the total number of child deaths to
six. Born on 3 October 1934 and baptized Daniel
Amponsah, the man with 100 songs to his
credit had some wisdom for the youth. Discipline, patience and practice, he distilled
many words down to these three traits. He condemned a corrupt understanding of
time among Ghana’s youth. “What is wrong
with us? …..our concept of time. Order is the
first law in heaven” he insisted. Agya Koo Nimo is at a loss to understand the
mad rush among today’s youth to be popular
and rich and advised that much more focus
should be paid to building a character. Quoting the words of a philosopher, Koo Nimo
said “popularity is an accident, riches take
wings, only one thing endures – character”
Ever reading books, Koo Nimo described the
current generation as a people who “have lost
the power to be still and never once possess our soul till [they] die.”

Pappy Kojo's first meeting with Sarkodie Pappy Kojo was on TLNCS hosted by Vanessa Gyan to talk
about his first encounter with Sarkodie. The 'Realer No' rapper talking about BET winner
Sarkodie said; “I can’t even believe it, but I just released a
song with my boss Sarkodie. When I’m sitting
with him and we are sharing jokes and
laughing, I keep hitting myself to bring me
back to my senses to know where and who
I’m around with. He is the big hommie and he even introduced me to his family.” The rapper also mentioned he was
concentrated on his career, but nothing else. “I’m staying focused because I don’t want to
do anything to disrespect anybody. And I
want to say all those ladies sub-tweeting me,
I see them, but I just have to stay focused. The rapper also revealed the most memorable
part of his life on the spotlight is when he met
Sarkodie. The first day I met Sark. It was at Django Bar;
He took the mic and said ‘Grandpapa, there is
this new guy in the game, I know Joey B is
killing it but hey, Pappy is the new thing.
Everyone in the room started looking at me.
Afterward, we sat and he taught me a few things about the industry. The Late Nite Celebrity Show airs on Mondays,
